The Manele Bay Hotel sits high above Hulopo'e Bay, Lanai's finest white sand beach, overlooking the nearby island of Kaho'olawe. The brilliant red lava cliffs and rock formations provide a dramatic contrast to the blue-green waters of the sea below. Multi-level gardens are in five different themes--Hawaiian, Japanese, Chinese, Bromeliad and Kama'aina--with waterfalls, ponds and streams, exotic plants and flowers.
The lobby features stunning views and original works of Lanai's native artists. Guests may browse through books, photography and view artifacts on display.
Guestrooms are spacious and offer views of the ocean, sculptured gardens and waterfalls. Interior decor reflects Mediterranean and Asian influences--custom-designed tile and wall coverings incorporate five different color schemes--English yellow, Caribbean blue, Mandarin red and other hues. The bathroom features his and hers marble sinks, wall mirror, marble countertop, separate shower stall and separate toilet room. A lighted make-up mirror, hair dryer and other accessories are available for guest use.
The dramatic setting of the Manele Bay Hotel affords many opportunities for guests to enjoy a variety of dining experiences with unparalleled views. Utilizing Hawaii's unique fresh products and reflecting a diverse blend of cultures, the Hulopo'e Court serves contemporary Hawaii regional cuisine. Dine informally under a bougainvillea-covered trellis at the Pool Grille, which offers an array of sandwiches and lighter fare keeping today's healthier lifestyle in mind. Ihilani (heavenly splendor) is an intimate dining room featuring French Mediterranean gourmet cuisine. Here, guests will be greeted by staff and seated at tables with crystal and silver. A favorite dish is the Sauteed Fresh Shrimp, Hearts of Palm and Prosciutto Salad with Mango. For dessert, don't miss the Strawberry Sunburst.
For those with an adventuresome spirit, Lanai is an explorer's mecca. There are many excellent hiking trails through lush forests, over rugged grasslands and beside pristine shorelines. |
