Newly built in 1991, The Inn of the Anasazi is adjacent to the Palace of the Governors, the oldest building in Santa Fe, and 1/2 block from Santa Fe's Historic Plaza.
Typical southwestern architectural style is reflected throughout the hotel. Each guest room and suite has a gas-lit kiva fireplace, four-poster beds and beamed ceilings. Earthtone colors are used extensively in throw rugs and wall hangings, many of the latter being exhibited by local artists. Furnishings are hand hewn, and all these element combines to create an aura of comfort. Guest rooms are equipped with luxurious cotton bed linens, robes, bath sheets, organic bath oils, shampoos and soaps. Amenities include stereos, TVs, VCRs, a mini-bar and private security safes. There are also coffee makers and custom-blend coffee beans.
Fishing, golf, skiing, horseback riding and many other activities are nearby. Museums, galleries, world-class shopping, gourmet dining, historic sites are all within walking distance of the Inn. Guides escort guests to the ancient Anasazi ruins of Bandelier National Park or the eight northern pueblos, as well as other historic sites. There is also a private library for guests who are interested in the local history, myths and legends of Santa Fe's cultures. This library room can also function as a boardroom for small corporate meetings.
The award-winning Anasazi Restaurant features Comtemporary Southwestern cuisine. Among the appetizers is Hudson Valley Foie Gras on Peppered Salmon with Golden Raisin-Brandy Sauce. Entrees include Cinnamon-Chile Rubbed Beef Medallions with White Cheddar Mashed Potatoes and Mango Salsa. The Anasazi Bar has a stairway leading to the private wine cellar.
