Durango is home to many events in both summer and winter and few, if any, of Durango's lodging options will put you so close to so many local attractions including the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, the Henry Strater Theater and Melodrama, the historic Main Avenue Shopping District and a plethora of great restaurants. The Strater Hotel is the centerpiece of Durango!
Great Music is no stranger to the Strater Hotel with several venues offering entertainment from local western performers to large touring national acts. Our Henry Strater Theater hosts a variety of musical events. The Cowboy Poetry Festival, Bluegrass Meltdown, Snowdown, Durango Heritage Festival and the Durango Film Festival are just a few of the great events happening throughout the year in Durango, Colorado and centered at the Strater.
The hardest part about activities and events in Durango is picking and choosing which you'll need to save for your next visit! There's just so much to do, that you'll inevitably be forced to choose between Rafting, Fishing, Hiking, Biking, Railroading To Silverton, Jeeping, Seeing a Show, or Skiing.
