Thomas Bond was a doctor best known, along with Benjamin Franklin, for helping to establish the first public hospital in the United States. His house, built in 1769, is an important example of the classic revival Georgian style architecture. Today it stands as a carefully restored townhouse with an ambiance of quiet luxury, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The refurbished guest rooms and suites have private baths and are exquisitely furnished with period furniture and authentic accessories. In keeping with the custom of the Federal Period, the most luxurious accommodations are those closest to the first floor. During the week guests are served a continental breakfast featuring freshly squeezed orange juice and freshly baked muffins, and, on weekends, a sumptuous full breakfast is served. The charming parlor serves as a gathering place where guests relax and enjoy a game of chess or bridge and start their evening with complimentary wine and cheese. Evenings end with freshly baked cookies.

In the heart of Philadelphia's Old City with easy access to downtown, The Bond House is walking distance to many historic sites, including Independence Hall. It is on the doorstep of fine restaurants, theaters, museums, world-class shopping and the internationally acclaimed Academy of Music and Philadelphia Orchestra.

Thomas Bond House has been selected as one of the 25 best Historic Inns and has been rated by AAA and Mobil. It is the only inn located in Independence National Historical Park and is owned by the National Park Service.
