The Victorian Inn on the Park, a registered historic landmark, also known as the Clunie House, was built in 1897, Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee year. Carefully restored with reproductions of original wallpapers and other features, the Inn revives late 19th-century elegance. It overlooks Golden Gate Park in an area well known for its noble Victorians.
The guestrooms, all with private baths, reflect Victorian San Francisco. Each is uniquely decorated and features its own design in beautiful comforters and down pillows.
Guests are greeted each morning in the oak-paneled dining room with a newspaper and a pleasing breakfast of fruit, cheese, juice, coffee, preserves, and warm breads baked daily on the premises. Guests are also invited to gather in the parlor in the late afternoons and early evenings to relax and enjoy refreshments.
The Inn is conveniently located less than five minutes from the Civic Center and museums, ten minutes to downtown, and so central that most points in the city are no more than fifteen minutes away. It is within a few blocks of the University of California San Francisco Medical Center, St. Mary's Hospital, and the University of San Francisco. |
