The Pitcher Inn has been welcoming guests since the early 1850s. Originally a simple country Inn where weary travelers venturing over three treacherous mountain paths from Granville, Lincoln and Roxbury would rest. The Inn evolved over the decades, by providing hearty meals, welcoming guests that chose the village of Warren as a quaint and quiet vacation spot and eventually becoming the Relais & Chateaux it is today. Time, however, has been kind in preserving the Inn's original hospitality and grace. Today's Pitcher Inn epitomizes Vermont's charms with each room representing selected aspects of the state; its history, character, surroundings, sport and social structure intertwined with the comforts expected by discerning travelers. Our location, nestled in the heart of central Vermont's Green Mountains, at the foot of Sugarbush Resort, makes it an ideal base to explore the cultural, historic, scenic and active multi-day pursuits that the area boasts year around.
The Pitcher Inn has a total of eleven rooms and suites, of which nine are unique double-occupancy rooms located in the main house and two are two bedroom suites, situated in the barn which is adjacent to the main house. Excluding extra beds, we can accommodate 13 couples or 26 people at the Inn. For exclusive use and house party events, with extra beds and pull out sofa beds, this number can be increased to 33 guests. Each room was designed and decorated to be distinctly different but with a common Vermont theme. Appointed with original art, memorabilia and antiques, the guest rooms provide a comfortable and subtly luxurious atmosphere.
As a member of Vermont Fresh Network, the Inn is committed to using the freshest local and regional ingredients which allows our Executive Chef, Sue Schickler, to change the menus seasonally as well as introducing special dishes based on that day's market's bounty. Vermont raised lamb, quail and rabbit, organic heirloom tomatoes, local free range eggs, artisanal cheeses and seafood from the country's finest purveyors provide the culinary team with ample materials to create superlative meals. In addition, all breakfast goods are baked daily on the premises as well as delectables for afternoon tea, served in the Library.
The Pitcher Inn is the perfect haven for your corporate retreat, sales meeting or annual board meeting. We have an on-site meeting coordinator to tailor-make your time with us to be productive, effective, relaxing and rewarding. We can accommodate up to 11 guests in private rooms, 13 if four are willing share the 2 -bedroom/2 -bath luxurious suites, Hayloft and Stable.
