Arlington's West Mountain Inn is a charming 1850's Colonial-style farmhouse with white clapboard, green shutters and seven gables. Furnished with country antiques, a wood-stove and high beamed ceilings, the Inn offers a warm, hospitable environment. Enjoy fabulous views of the Battenkill Valley, the Green and Red Mountains, and miles and miles of lush country meadows. Located close to the historic village of Arlington, guests can enjoy outlet shopping, historic Hildene, and other outdoor adventures.
All of the rooms are individually decorated with antiques, comfortable reading chairs, canopy beds and fireplaces. The Rockwell Kent Suite has a wood-paneled cathedral ceiling, a king-sized canopy bed, a large living area with wood-burning fireplace, and a view of a beautiful llama pasture with the majestic Red Mountains looming in the distance. Each bathroom is individually decorated and contains a full bath with tub and shower.
After an afternoon of exploring 150 acres of gardens, lawns, hiking trails and meadows, relax with a snack of homemade cookies or muffins while sipping the Inn's special hot spiced cider with spiced rum. For those special occasions, there is a country barn which seats 125 people. It has a dance floor where guests can dance the night away while celebrating that special occasion. After a fun-filled day, luxuriate in a hot bath using the complimentary toiletries.
Dine by candlelight in the wood-paneled dining room adorned with fresh-cut flowers and wood-burning fireplace. Maybe start with baked brie in filo dough with walnuts, followed by Black Angus filet mignon with wild mushroom jus. To top of the delicious meal, how about maple-pecan pie ala mode.
