The 1661 Inn and Hotel Manisses are situated on eleven acres of lawn on Block Island, a thirteen-mile ferry ride from the coast of Rhode Island.
The 1661 Inn and 1661 Guest House, named for the year that Block Island was settled, offer visitors 18 individually decorated guest rooms. Most have private baths; some have whirlpool tubs, ocean views, sundecks, and refrigerators and/or kitchenettes. Each room is named after one of the original settlers. Both the Inn and the Guest House overlook the ocean and guests can watch the sun rising over the Atlantic.

The Hotel Manisses, built in 1870, has been completely restored and is lovelier now than it was in the nineteenth century. It has 17 rooms individually decorated with antique furnishings. All rooms have telephones and private baths, and some have whirlpool tubs. Each room is named after a famous shipwreck before 1870. The award-winning Hotel Manisses Dining Room is known for outstanding seasonal seafood dishes prepared by Chef Josh Berube whose accolades are found in Bon Appetit Magazine. After-dinner drinks and flaming coffees are served at the Top Shelf Bar in the parlor.

The animal farm on the premises features llamas, goats, black swans, Indian runner ducks, geese, emus, and more. The gardens east of the animal farm provide many of the herbs and vegetables served to guests and the flowers found in the guestrooms, parlors and dining rooms. Historic Old Harbor, with many shops and sights, is within short walking distance, as are the renowned white sandy beaches. Hundreds of acres of nearby Conservancy Land are perfect for hiking.
