The Rancho Valencia Resort is set on 40 acres in a private canyon, lushly landscaped with eucalyptus, palm trees, and colorful bougainvillea. Citrus trees fill the air with the scent of orange blossoms.
Set around a mission-style courtyard, the Resort features terra cotta floors and hand-painted Mexican tiles, complementing the rich hues and stunning landscape. The Resort's suites feature a large, distinctive living room with open-beamed ceilings, fireplace bordered with hand-painted tiles, and French doors opening onto the garden patio. The bathrooms are complete with a walk-in closet, robes and slippers, double sinks, and a separate bathtub and shower designed with paver tiles on the floors and counter tops. The views of the garden and pool are especially spectacular during sunset. Opening of our newest suites, The Grove, took place in April 2002. Larger than the original suites, these also offer private spas on patios, steam showers, and jetted tubs.
Activities abound at the Resort, where guests can enjoy four nearby golf courses, 18 tennis courts, an outdoor pool, croquet, and polo. The deluxe spa facilities offer guests an opportunity to indulge their desires for relaxation. The Resort is also just minutes away from the beaches of Del Mar and shopping in La Jolla. The Stephen Birch Aquarium and Wild Animal Park are nearby, offering exciting activities and behind-the-scenes tours for the Resort's guests.
The Rancho Valencia Restaurant, located at Rancho Valencia Resort, is a wonderfully romantic and elegant restaurant tucked in a private canyon in Rancho Santa Fe. Sitting just off a mission-style courtyard, the restaurant exudes a sophisticated French country charm with its white-washed, open beamed ceilings, yet maintains a California breeziness with an abundance of live palms scattered throughout and fresh flowers on every table. Executive Chef Steven Sumner presents an innovative and imaginative menu featuring California/French cuisine with an Asian influence. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, as well as brunch on Sundays, to both resort guests and loyal locals.
