The Pontchartrain Hotel, centrally located in the Garden District, was built in 1927 by the Aschaffenburg family and is now managed by Expotel. The magnificent draped entrance opens into a grand lobby with vaulted ceiling and gleaming chandeliers.
Each spacious guest room is individually decorated, no two alike. The suites in this hotel are truly extraordinary. For example, the Richard Burton suite is decorated on a "Camelot" theme in honor of the late, great actor; and the magnificent new Imperial suite has Napoleonic decor in the Malmaison tradition.
The Bayou Bar was inspired by the natural beauty of Louisiana scenic backwaters, again reflected in a Reinike wall mural. Piano music adds to your enjoyment of house specialties such as the mint julep and the Bayou Bomb.
The Pontchartrain Hotel offers conscientious quality service that is unrivaled anywhere.
