The Marshall House, with its meticulous service and award-winning design, has always been known as an exceptional hotel. In fact, it was voted Savannah's Best Hotel in 2004 and 2005. No small feat in a city where hospitality is revered and expectations are high.

And there's more. Coastal Living Magazine named The Marshall House among its top 20 favorite lodgings, and the Travel Channel featured The Marshall House on Great Hotels. We invite you to visit, and see for yourself why residents and visitors alike think The Marshall House is the place to stay in Savannah.

This unique 68-room hotel has the perfect historic location downtown on Broughton Street, in the heart of Savannah's historic district. Walk two minutes in one direction, and you're on River Street. Head out in another, and you're in City Market. Savannah's famous squares, historic homes and sultry night clubs are all within walking distance.

In 1851, The Marshall House was built as the first hotel in Savannah. One-hundred-fifty years later, $12 million was invested in its spectacular restoration. The award-winning results are stunning, combining elegance and historical authenticity with a jazzy and upbeat design. There is truly no place in Savannah like it.

The Marshall House was named as a National Historic building on April 1, 2000 by The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation. The hotel has its original staircases (some of the spindles and gingerbread have been recreated), original wood floors, fireplaces, brick walls and the doors to each guest room. The Atrium was the courtyard and has been encased with a glass ceiling to give the sensation of what once was. The artifacts displayed on floors two and three were found during the renovation.
