Founded in 1747, Staunton, Virginia is in the heart of the scenic and historic Shenandoah Valley. Staunton's charm has been preserved in its collection of fine old homes and buildings in every style from Queen Anne to Colonial Revival.
The Stonewall Jackson Hotel, named for General Stonewall Jackson, originally opened in 1924, and quickly became the gathering place for Shenandoah Valley society. The architecturally significant Staunton Virginia hotel was designed by H.L. Stevens and includes a one of a kind circa 1924 Wurlitzer Organ in the hotel's famous Colonnade Ballroom.
The ribbon cutting ceremony on October 12, 2005 ushered in a new era for the Stonewall Jackson Hotel and the city of Staunton. The Stonewall Jackson Hotel & Conference Center has undergone a complete renovation to historically preserve its charm while providing modern guest amenities, accommodations and services.
