The Pierre, the iconic flagship of Taj Hotels on New York’s Fifth Avenue overlooking Central Park, re-opened on June 1, 2009 following a meticulous $100 million renovation to create new guestroom and bath interiors and reconfigure first floor public areas to accommodate a new restaurant and lobby lounge. Even in a city where exclusive luxuries are the norm, there is one hotel that is far more rare and special than the rest. Possessing a fabled Central Park location and legendary history, The Pierre continues to set the standard for elegance and unrivaled hospitality. The Pierre features the newest and most inviting guestrooms in the city. Staff outnumbers guests by a ratio of three to one, allowing us to focus on anticipating a guest’s every need. In addition, London's most fashionable restaurant is opening at The Pierre, attributing to a completely new experience, while preserving the warmth and understated elegance of The Pierre.
All 189 guest rooms, including 49 suites, are transformed to feature a warm, inviting residential-style décor with a feeling of quiet luxury. High ceilings and abundant natural light evoke a gracious, airy experience that mirrors the new interiors. Color palettes, comprised of soft neutral tones in pale ivory, taupe and coral, are contrasted with rich woods and tufted leather headboards and matching benches. Richly textured silk and brocade fabrics in elegant neutrals with tasteful accents of color adorn upholstery, pillows, draperies and bed throws. Guest bathrooms have been enlarged to accommodate a floor-to-ceiling glass-walled shower with oversized showerhead and multiple jet sprays and a marble-clad soaking tub.
The Pierre provides seamless meeting and conference services to ensure the highest levels of creativity, convenience and efficiency for every business requirement and request. In addition to our perfectly appointed meeting rooms and banqueting venues, The Pierre provides a technology-driven business centre designed to provide guests with comprehensive secretarial, meeting and ancillary services all expertly handled by our professional staff.
We are proud to announce that Le Caprice, London's most fashionable restaurant, has crossed the pond to bring its unique brand of relaxed European cuisine to the edge of Central Park, exclusively at The Pierre. The main body of the dining room stretches along 61st Street and holds 80 guests; a long bar, specifically designed for up to 14 diners, runs down the side of the restaurant. Long-standing favorites from the London restaurant such as Thai-baked sea bass, salmon fishcake with buttered spinach and sorrel sauce, crispy duck and watercress salad and Scandinavian iced berries with hot white chocolate sauce continue to appear within the newly designed New York menu.
