For many years it was the Ivey's Department Store--the Tiffany of department stores. After extensive remodeling it opened in 1985 as the Haywood Park Hotel. Consisting of 33 suites, this small, world-class hotel offers the ambiance of a luxurious executive home-away-from-home.
In keeping with the Art Deco style of the building, the lobby is done in soothing pastels, with golden oak woodwork accented by gleaming brass.
The beautiful, spacious suites are remarkably larger than an average hotel room. Fully appointed with a wet bar, work desk, TV with remote control, and king- or queen-size beds, they feature bedroom sitting areas and large walk-in closets. Baths are done in Spanish marble and have double vanities, lighted make-up mirrors, hair dryer, TV and telephone. The Master Suites also feature Jacuzzi tubs. Guests are pampered with evening turndown service including a chocolate truffle, and with continental breakfast served in-room.
The restaurant, 23 Page, is done in Aubergine tones with special paint treatment and an open kitchen. Favorites among the scrumptious dinner menu selections are the popular wild mushroom crepe hors d'oeuvres and an entree of grilled lamb chops.
The hotel has business and conference facilities available. Its two conference rooms have a capacity of 150 and can accommodate any equipment or decorating needs. A state-of-the-art fitness center is available for guest use at no additional charge, and massage therapy is available by appointment. Guests may relax in the sauna after a workout.
