The Vernon Manor Hotel has been a Cincinnati landmark since 1924. Centrally located in the historic Uptown district on a tree-lined street overlooking Downtown, the hotel is lauded by Presidents and travelers alike for warm, friendly service and excellent accommodations. Modeled after a stately English home, the Hatfield House in Hertfordshire, it has the ambience one would expect of a gracious Manor. The architects incorporated many forward-thinking objectives in their building specifications including fireproof floors, guestroom refrigeration and modern "valet" doors. The elegant public spaces included the extensive use of American Black Walnut, some of which has survived to this day. Renovated in 1999, its 177 guestrooms and 58 unique suites offer an Old-World charm with the New-World amenities, comfort, and convenience.
Guest services at the hotel include complimentary parking, newspaper and coffee service, a Fitness Room, Business Center and shuttle service to the many nearby area attractions. The hotel also features The Shops at the Vernon Manor, a collection of shops that provide personal services. The Forum Grill, another Cincinnati tradition and a dining institution since 1924, is located within the hotel. Specializing in grilled steaks, chops, seafood and prime rib, The Forum Grill has been awarded Cincinnati Magazine's "Best Power Lunch" and offers one of the city's best Sunday Brunches. Club 400 is the hotel's English Pub featuring lighter fare, an extended dinner menu and live entertainment on the weekends. The Hotel has 14 meeting and banquet rooms that are as unique as the hotel itself, including the grand Regency Ballroom, the intimate Oak Room and a refreshing Rooftop & Kensington Gardens.
Since opening, Vernon Manor Hotel has been a haven for international dignitaries and celebrities, including Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, and Bush. In addition, the hotel was center stage and temporary home for the production of the 1988 Movie of the Year "Rainman," starring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise. The hotel's address "400 Oak Street" was used as a feature line throughout the film. |
