Truly valued traditions endure the test of time - and so it is with the Woodstock welcome. For over 200 years there has been an Inn on Woodstock's village green. Although it was built in 1969, the present Woodstock Inn & Resort is the latest in a line of hostelries that dates back to 1793. Their amenities have expanded greatly through the years, yet their philosophy has not; provide guests with an experience that will be fondly remembered long into the future.
The colonial architecture of this celebrated Inn conceals a modern hotel with the finest facilities. 142 large guest rooms and suites offer fine accommodations typified by the hand-sewn quilts that grace the beds.
This year-round resort offers a wealth of activities including an 18-hole Robert Trent Jones, Sr. golf course. Other activities include hiking riding, six clay and four all-weather tennis courts, their own Suicide Six downhill Ski Area with great terrain for all ability levels and 60 km of groomed trails at their Ski Touring Center.
The indoor Health & Fitness Center is another outstanding facility with its pool, sauna, whirlpool, two indoor tennis courts, squash, racquetball, an extensive exercise room, massage and croquet.
A short distance from the Inn is the Billings Farm and museum, one of the country's premier agricultural museums, keeping alive the spirit and values of Vermont's rural heritage. Set at the historic Billings Farm which has raised championship Jersey cows since 1871, it is both an active historical museum and a working dairy farm.
Dining is an experience not to be missed. From the Eagle Cafe and the Dining Room to the Clubhouse at our Country Club. The emphasis is on quality. Quality of the food, quality in its preparation, service, presentation and selection.
Woodstock is a village of remarkable beauty located in the Green Mountains, in the center of Vermont, where a covered bridge is across the Green from the Inn. Two others are located nearby, and the village boasts five bronze bells cast by Paul Revere. Woodstock has been called one of the most beautiful villages in New England. Amidst its country stores and shops, church spires reach for the sky.
The readers of Conde Nast Traveler Magazine have rated Woodstock Inn & Resort one of the best places to stay in the world. Come see for yourself. |
