Elegance, convenience and premier location is the desire of the astute traveler, and The Prescott Hotel in downtown cosmopolitan San Francisco has it all, including an acclaimed restaurant supervised by world-renowned executive chef Wolfgang Puck. This historic 1913 brick-faced hotel has been impeccably renovated, opening its doors and guest rooms to an impressed clientele in Spring, 1989. Classically San Franciscan, The Prescott is just a block from famed prestigious Union Square, theatres, stylish shops, restaurants, and the Fisherman's Wharf-bound Powell St. cable car.
Urban elegance marks the lobby, with its inviting fireplace, comfortable seating arrangements of richly-upholstered furniture, and display of California Indian artifacts. Careful attention to detail mark the splendid decor of the hotel's 109 spacious rooms. Comfortable, tasteful appointments are complemented by pecan-hued Empire furniture, including a stocked honor bar, remote control TV and complimentary HBO. Baths offer terry robes, hair dryers and generous toiletries. In its 17 elegant suites, The Prescott has added VCRs, whirlpool bathtubs and double phones. The Presidential suite has the added luxury of a wood-burning fireplace.
Special Prescott courtesies are evening-time wine and hors d'oeuvres in the library, day-long coffee and tea service, same-day laundry service, and complimentary transportation to the financial district, six blocks away. Two floors are reserved for non-smokers.
Opened in April, 1989 to lavish reviews, the PosTrio Restaurant is under the aegis of famed executive chef Wolfgang Puck and his equally-inspired co-chefs Anne and David Gingrass. Modern artworks accentuate the contemporary American design, imaginatively opened to three levels and tied together innovatively by ribboned patterns in the carpet, marble floor and handrails. The first-floor bar introduces the guest to this signature restaurant, and there is a garden patio room off the top-level dining area for private gatherings. Hailed as the "chefs' interpretation" of classic San Franciscan cuisine, the menu emphasizes the freshest of local produce and ingredients. Among the rave-winning entrees is grilled eggplant with mozzarella and David's homemade salami.
The new San Franciscan ambience at The Prescott is directed at the guest who desires the finest--at an affordable price. |
