If it's the Upper East Side you want, and you'd like to find something reasonable in price, look no further! The Surrey, with studios and one-and two-bedroom suites, offers terrific value and comfort in an appealing neighborhood of stately brownstones, Madison Avenue's dramatic boutiques, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art (without a doubt one of the best art museums this side of the Louvre). You'll be right on the corner of Madison and 76th Street, a block from Central Park, and within walking distance of the Metropolitan.

Step into a large lobby, where antique reproductions stand out against highly polished marble floors and walls. Crystal chandeliers, fresh flowers, and an outgoing concierge complete the picture of a special environment. The fully furnished suites feature executive-size desks, two-line telephones with voice mail, dataports, 25" TVs with VCRs and well equipped kitchens or kitchenettes. Our favorite suite has an Oriental rug on the gleaming hardwood foyer floor, a large living room with mahogany bookcases, beveled mirrors, fireplace, terrace, and a striking marble bathroom.

Daniel Boulud's Cafe Boulud at the Surrey Hotel is an artful addition to the Upper East Side's museum mile. With a relaxed atmosphere and sleek decor, Cafe Boulud combines the best of classic French cooking, regional specialties and world cuisine. This highly rated restaurant has earned praise from The New York Times and some of the most respected food critics in the country. The ambiance is sophisticated yet warm, the service attentive, and the food in harmony with the seasons. The a la carte menu is complemented with creative tasting menus and an extensive wine list. During summer months patrons may enjoy cocktails on the charming sidewalk terrace. Cafe Boulud also provides room service for the hotel guests.
