Keswick Hall is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains just two hours from Washington, D.C. Situated on a 630- acre estate, Keswick Hall is the very essence of relaxed splendor. The interior of Keswick Hall was designed by Sir Bernard Ashley as a blend of the eclectic design tradition of the English Country House with the warm informality of American hospitality at its best. English and American antiques complement the classic designs of Laura Ashley fabrics and wallpapers. Each of the 48 bedrooms is individually furnished and contains the cherished possessions of a family home: charming china, interesting old prints, books and family photographs.
Guests are served a full country breakfast, English afternoon tea with scones and jam in the drawing room, and drinks and canapes before dinner in the Great Hall. Dinner in the Ashley Room, with its Wedgewood china, crystal chandeliers and views of the golf course is a principal reason for visiting Keswick Hall. Chef Rick Small recommends starting with a tian of lobster salad and mizuna with truffled vinaigrette and vanilla oil, followed by grilled Summerfield veal chops with chanterelles, sweet corn flan and wilted spinach. For dessert he suggests Tia Maria chocolate delice with orange sorbet and bittersweet chocolate mousse.
Keswick Hall provides full conference and business facilities as well as guest membership in the Keswick Club. The Club offers an Arnold Palmer golf course, 5 tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools, and spa & fitness equipment. Guests are just five miles east of downtown Charlottesville and minutes from the Blue Ridge Mountains, Monticello and other historic sites.
