In all of golf, there is nothing quite like Pebble Beach. Regarded as one of the top five courses in the world, it has hosted both the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open. Pebble Beach Golf Links is open to lodge guests on a preferential basis. You may also elect to play Spyglass Hill, designed by Robert Trent Jones and rated in the Top 40 American golf courses by Golf Digest, or Del Monte, the first golf course west of the Mississippi, virtually unchanged since it opened in 1897.
The Lodge at Pebble Beach enchants guests with relaxed elegance, attentive hospitality, stately architecture, and a glorious oceanside setting. Indulge in exquisite dining, spacious guest rooms, and excellent shops, and enjoy four championship golf courses, tennis, equestrian and hiking trails, and much more.
In addition to the golf courses and the Tennis Pavilion at Spanish Bay, guests enjoy full privileges at the Beach and Tennis Club, with its 14 hard- surface tennis courts, and outdoor swimming pool. Riding is available at the nearby Pebble Beach Equestrian Center. Hikers and joggers have a choice of five trails, from the 3.5-mile Indian Village Trail to the 9-mile Shore Course Trail.
Quality specialty shops line the colorful breezeway facing the lodge. The architecture is California traditional, circa 1919. Meticulously landscaped gardens and grounds create a special feeling of casual stateliness. Clusters of flowers, trees, and walks blend naturally with the graceful lines of the lodge exterior.
While 11 rooms are in the main building, 150 are in 12 separate low-rise buildings with expansive views of the ocean and the gardens. Most guest rooms have wood-burning fireplaces, balconies, and wet bars. The furniture is overstuffed and the elegance is understated.
There is no room for ordinary dining at the Lodge at Pebble Beach. You will be tempted by an exciting array of choices, whether catching a casual bit before or after your round or savoring the award-winning restaurant, Club XIX, serves contemporary French cuisine inspired by acclaimed chef, Hubert Keller. Fresh salmon baked in a tender corn pancake, topped with golden caviar, herb crusted lamb rack on roasted shallots and black olive are just a few of the offerings Chef Keller has created.
