The Mirror Lake Inn is located on seven acres in the quiet residential area of Lake Placid and was a famous resort even before the Winter Olympics came to town in 1932. The 1980 Winter Olympics increased the area's wintertime recreational opportunities, which now include skating rinks, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing nine miles from the Inn (at Whiteface Mountain), bob-sledding, tobogganing, dog-sledding, and snow-mobiling.
Situated on the shores of Mirror Lake, the Inn offers private beach and summertime recreation as well. Relax and rejuvenate in our luxurious spa with the latest in European specialty treatments. A rich blend of mahogany and marble surrounds you in luxury and comfort while you receive personal attention unsurpassed in North America. The exercise room includes the latest equipment, and each station has its own private TV.
Casual Adirondack elegance best describes the Inn's ambiance. Its lobby and public areas feature mahogany, stone fireplaces, chandeliers, and antiques. Complimentary afternoon tea is served daily in the parlor.
Guestrooms are well appointed in classic traditional style. Most have mountain or lake views with private terraces. Suites feature king-size beds and double Jacuzzi tubs with showers.
Breakfast and dinner are served in The View. This romantic spot, overlooking Mirror Lake and the High Peaks offers creative comfort food in an elegant, warm atmosphere. The Adirondack flapjacks with hot maple syrup are a famous breakfast item, and the osso buco Milanese is popular in the evening. Taste is a European inspired bistro offering inventive fusions of French, German and Italian specialties. The Cottage Cafe, known as the skiers' meeting place, serves lunch and supper and stays open until the wee hours offering an extensive wine list and six draft beers.
The Mirror Lake Inn offers full conference facilities.
