Located in the Harwood Historical District (downtown), The Aristocrat Hotel of Dallas is a full-service historic landmark. The hotel was originally built in 1925 by Conrad Hilton and was the first hotel to carry his name. A $16 million dollar renovation in 1985 reduced the number of rooms from 320 to 172. Now a mostly-suite hotel, it is ideal for the business traveler as it is connected to an extensive skywalk system linking it to many corporate offices and a self-service garage.
Inside the lobby the decor is reminiscent of Europe's intimate hotels with rich wood paneling, crown molding, etched glass and brass period furniture. In addition to the lobby, hotel guests are invited to spend leisure time in the Clubroom--a private retreat for a quiet visit with an associate or relaxing spot for day or evening. Magazines, books, newspapers, plus a big screen TV are available here for guests' use.
The 73 one-bedroom suites all have refrigerator/dry bars (stocked), cherry writing table and side chairs, armchairs and loveseat with coffee table and console TV in the Parlor. All bathrooms have a two-line telephone and most have separate marble vanity areas. Extra pillows, fresh flowers, and queen-size beds add to the comfort of the guest suites.
The Bar & Grill offers a full breakfast, luncheon and dinner with entrees grilled over mesquite wood. The bar features a wide choice of premium varietal wines by the glass, Texas-size frozen margaritas. Mesquite-grilled fresh catch of the day with sauce is the most celebrated entree. The Bar & Grill is also a good spot to enjoy late-evening suppers and snacks. |
