Looking for a classic Vermont country inn experience? Visit Inn on the Common in scenic Craftsbury Common, one of the state’s most photographed hill towns. Nestled in the Northeast Kingdom’s pristine countryside, this jewel of an inn offers travelers a quiet, sophisticated retreat from today’s hectic lifestyle.
Surrounded by manicured gardens and the legendary beauty of our famous Green Mountains, the Inn’s lovely campus is home to three meticulously restored Federal houses. Guestrooms are appointed with private baths and many fine furnishings, including hand-stitched quilts, artwork and heirloom antiques. Some rooms offer the cozy Vermont warmth of a fireplace or wood-burning stove, and they all have lovely sitting areas.
To ensure that guests experience a restful retreat, rooms are free of distractions like telephones and televisions. At Inn on the Common, curling up by the fire with a soft quilt and a good book will provide that much-needed escape from civilization. If you get a hankering for "busy," the village of Stowe is minutes away, chock full of tourist shops, boutiques, fragrant coffee houses and terrific little cafés.
Innkeepers Jim and Judi Lamberti take pleasure and pride in providing warm, gracious hospitality and superb customer service. And how did they get into innkeeping? After spending fourteen years as the Innkeepers of Burlington, Vermont's only four-diamond property, the Lamberti's felt a need for a change. They had poured incredible time and energy into helping build one of New England's most prestigious large country hotels. They had become active in the hospitality industry, joining the New England Innkeepers Association, where Jim served as President in 2004. Organizations had begun asking Jim to speak at conferences and industry events. The Lambertis had traveled extensively, networking with other hotel folks, making new friends and embracing new ideas. They had raised their children and begun enjoying life as grandparents. And then, they started thinking about how they would most like to spend the remainder of their working years.
The answer was all too apparent: to become entrepreneurs, to take everything they'd learned over the years and put it to work at their very own inn, a place that was truly theirs, a place that they could pass on to their children...Inn on the Common.
