With a rich history dating back to 1858, The James Street Inn was once a flourmill and is now a charming country hideaway. Sitting quite literally on the river, the Inn has a viewing window that allows guests to observe the river flowing along the raceway underneath the Inn's lower level.
Guests are invited to sink into the inviting atmosphere of the James Street Inn's lobby with its brick walls and archways, low-beamed ceilings, antique brass lighting, and comfortable couches. Additional comfort is found in the Inn's suites, which are generously sized with queen beds, sofa sleepers, spacious vanities, wooden blinds, and lovely artwork. The favored suite is decorated in Shaker and traditional styles with a southern exposure, offering beautiful views of water rushing over the DePere Dam. The bathrooms are luxuriously appointed with cast-iron tubs, large vanities, and aromatherapy scents for the bath.
Located near Historic Downtown DePere, The Inn is within walking distance of many fine shops and delicious restaurants. The Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame, Heritage Hill State Park, and Weidner Center for the Arts, National Railroad museum, and many other attractions are within a short drive. Guests will also enjoy a relaxing afternoon spent curled up with a book from the Library after a challenging game of chess or backgammon.
To start off each morning, a continental breakfast with a selection of fresh fruit juices, cereals, muffins, rolls, and yogurt is served in the parlor.
