A beautiful fifteenth century palace, once the residence of Count Beccari-Freguglia, has been transformed into an elegant four-star hotel. The skillful renovation has maintained the ancient columns, arches, marble and tapestries.
The Ripagrande Hotel is located in the heart of the historical center of Ferrara within easy reach of the Cathedral and the Estensi family castle. It is situated in a quiet pedestrian area, but guests can gain entrance with their vehicles to park on the street or in the hotel's garage.
Forty rooms, of which 20 are junior suites, are furnished mainly in a pleasant classic style and endowed with the most modern of comforts.
The Riparestaurant offers, in a cozy and refined atmosphere, the best of typical local and regional dishes. Two magnificent inner Renaissance courtyards complete the setting and may be used, weather permitting, for outdoor banquets and meals. Tradition indeed reigns here with the tasty recipes created with skill and imagination. Accompanying each dish are excellent wines and their famous bread, known worldwide. For a dish that you will certainly never forget, try the Salama da Sago - soft cooked sacked pork with mashed potatoes or the Cappellacci - pumpkin ravioli. It is no wonder that the restaurant was given a award as one of "The Restaurants of Beautiful Italy."
You will not soon forget Ferrara, a small city with enormous appeal. And you will not soon forget the Ripagrande Hotel. |
