Immersed in the stillness of the Tuscan countryside, CastelBigozzi is one of the oldest embattled castles of the Strove area. Ideally located near Monteriggioni, Siena, San Gimignano and Florence, this four-star castle offers the warmth and sobriety of a country house. In the Middle Ages this castle belonged to the ancestors of the old and noble Montanini family. Its coat of arms well recounts its history: a red shield, like the surrounding land, a black lion, symbol of courage and battles, glory and defeats. Historical chronicles in fact report that this was a place of refuge and protection for Ghibelline troops. Today, the castle's rich history is evident throughout with remnants of art, history and long-remembered tales.
A member of Romantik and Charming Hotels, the castle continues its excellence. With thirteen apartments in the main part of the castle and three in the annexes, guests will find that privacy and luxury are of the utmost importance. These two- and three-room quarters are elegantly appointed with antiques and artwork.
