Luxury in the heart of the Canadian wilderness. Nestled next to the Tusket River, immediately adjacent to the Tobeatic Wilderness Area of southern Nova Scotia, Trout Point is undoubtedly the most luxurious wilderness lodge in Atlantic Canada, offering impeccable service and designed for absolute Haute Rustic comfort. Positioned so that virtually every room boasts water views, Trout Point shelters its guests in an utterly civilized outpost amidst absolute wilderness. Enchanting. Extraordinary. And, very exclusive. The Lodge, open from mid May to late October, provides access to unique experiences, including culinary vacation & Romance in the Wilderness packages, guided fishing, hiking & birding, kayaking & canoing, lake & river swimming, outdoor cedar barrel sauna & wood-fired hot tub, and more on site, with whale watching, sea kayaking, and great golf nearby.
Fifteen varied accommodation options await guests, including the superb Great Lodge, riverside River Bend Lodge, and lakeside Black Bear Cottage & Cub Cottage. Each spacious lodging features luxurious bedding, comfortable seating areas, and tasteful bathrooms with access to truly relaxing public areas with fireplaces. The Lodge is located just 30 minutes by car from the Yarmouth International Ferry Terminal, with daily service from Portland and Bar Harbor, Maine, USA.
An architectural master piece made from giant Eastern Spruce logs, chiseled granite and sandstone, with full scribe notch and dovetail joinery, Trout Point's owners built the Lodge in celebration of the Great Camps erected along the U.S. & Canadian Eastern Seaboard in the early 20th century. This three-story structure houses guest facilities, the Great Room, mezzanine library, dining room, kitchen, two bars, and recreational facilities on the banks of the Tusket River. Replete with mica and Tiffany lamps, oriental rugs, log furniture, and extensive indoor and outdoor public areas, Trout Point is the ideal nature retreat. All of our spacious guest suites feature broad river views and full amenities. Many have hand-cut stone fireplaces and porches or patios, as do the Great Room and The Dining Room.
